I am writing in order to submit my resume for the position of teacher with your school. I am a South African native English speaker. I have more than 13 years of teaching experience and am currently working as a teacher for Grade 5 Natural Science and Grade 7 Technology at a public school with 140+ students per grade.
In my time as a teacher I achieved the following: Promoted to head of grade 7
Promoted to head of Science
Taught internationally to ESL students Multiple sport coaching positions
My classroom environment is one of fun and excitement. I create a calm and energised learning environment so that learning is less of a task and more of an experience. I make use of multiple mediums – experiments, physical activities, group work, team collaboration, videos, white boards, text book, pictures etc. The more exposure students have, the better they will grasp new ideas and concepts.
My teaching style is one of individuality. I believe that each student is different and has unique requirements to allow them to achieve their potential. I believe in giving individualised instruction. I also feel that patience is a key aspect of successful teaching. Students are all learning and need patience and guidance and I hope to be this for my students.
