Assistant Professor in Chemistry – Career@UM

The Department of Physics and Chemistry (DPC) of the Faculty of Science and Technology invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor in the Synthesis of Single Atomic Site Catalysts discipline.

Physics and Chemistry are the bridges to many modern technologies, and they have transformed to many aspects in our daily life, such as energy, biomedical, materials science, environment management, etc. In order to cope with the development of innovation and technology in Macao and the Greater Bay Area. The Department of Physics and Chemistry offers undergraduate programme, the curriculum emphasizes on the areas of Applied Physics and Chemistry. Currently, about 24 full-time academic staff from diverse research backgrounds serve in this department, including Solar Energy and Photo-electric Converting, Image Scattering Physics, Super Capacity Energy Storage, Hydrogen Energy, Materials Stimulation, Light Weight Cement, Smart City, etc. More details about the department are available from https://www.fst.um.edu.mo/pc/. UM is among the top 1% in ESI (Essential Sciences Indicators) rankings in Engineering. In the THE World University Ranks, the Engineering and Technology programme is ranked among the 101 – 125th.

Qualifications
The candidates must have an earned PhD Degree in related areas. Preference will be given to candidates with extensive research and teaching experience at the tertiary education level.

The selected candidate is expected to assume duty in August 2022.

Remuneration
A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP828,100 (approximately USD102,230) will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% – 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
