Laboratory Introduction

Marine Robotics Laboratory emphasizes on research topics including robot design, perception, control, energy management, etc. for marine environment. We are carrying out research projects, e.g. Key Project from NSFC-Shenzhen Fundamental Research Center, Shenzhen Robotics Discipline Development Project, etc. Dr. Huihuan Qian, the Lab Director, is currently Assistant Professor of School of Science and Engineering. He also serves as the Deputy Associate Director in State Joint Engineering Laboratory in Robotics and Intelligent Manufacturing.

Job Description

Applicants should have:

1．PhD degree related to robotics.

2．Research experience in robot design and control for a long period, and good publication record in top international conferences and journals.

3．Organizing capability in research, good communication skills in oral/written English and Chinese, and capability to assist in leading a small research team to conduct frontier academic research.

4．Good potential in classroom teaching, with the ability to present academic opinions clearly in English.

5．Research experience in autonomous sailboats or surface/underwater robot design (priority).

Job Duties include:

1．To assist in supervising the research team in frontier academic research in autonomous sailboats.

2．To teach some relevant courses in School of Science and Engineering.

Salary and Fringe Benefits

Salary will be comparable to international standards, commensurate with experience and accomplishments. Appointments will be made under the establishment of CUHK-Shenzhen, and employee benefits will be provided according to the relevant labor laws of Mainland China as well as CUHK-Shenzhen regulations.
